Senegal remained top of Group Seven with a 1-1 draw against Tanzania, in Mwanza, thanks to Demba Ba's second-half equaliser.
The goal for The Teranga Lions cancelled out a first-half strike by Nizal Khalifan who lobbed over Tony Sylva, in the Senegal goal, to give The Taifa Stars the lead after only 15 minutes. Senegal's Diomansy Kamara had a close-range header saved on the line soon after, but it was Tanzania who dominated most of the match. The match was played in front of a capacity crowd which included Tanzania's president Jakaya Kikwete.
