Scandinavia airline SAS said Thursday its Norway arm will appeal to the Supreme Court after losing an industrial espionage case against its low-cost rival Norwegian Air Shuttle.
A Norwegian appeals court on Tuesday overturned an earlier decision and fined SAS NOK 4 million (USD 732,400), backing Norwegian's claim that SAS had illegally accessed its booking data.
"We will appeal the case to the Supreme Court because we think there has been no illegal activity in this matter," chief executive Ola Strand at SAS Norway said in a statement.
Norwegian Air Shuttle said after the verdict against SAS on Tuesday that it planned to sue for compensation, and estimated losses of as much as NOK 500 million (USD 91.56 million).
