THE qualms that Zanzibar is not secure in the Union because of the reference that it’s not a state are as unfounded as they are false. It is for this reason that we take the calls from politicians craving for the review and consequent change of the constitution of Tanzania to be improper and a dangerous political adventure.
We are coming clear on this issue because we seriously believe that Tanzania is long past the era of changing constitution just for the sake of satisfying political needs of a few politicians. The constitution, which is the mother of all laws in the land, must always be respected.
