Rapid increase in swine flu cases

The Norwegian Institute of Public Health has registered 35 new cases of Influenca A (H1N1) also called swine flu this past week. Altogether 76 persons have tested positive for H1N1 since May 9th.

The number of people contacting the Oslo casualty clinic over fears they have swine flu has increased to the point where the clinic is not able to do home visits. The waiting line is long and people are adviced to instead contact their General Practitioner.

Of those diagnosed with the new flu, 68 pr cent are under the age of 30. All of those diagnosed have caught the flu while on visits abroad.

No one in Norway has so far died from the H1N1.
