Dear Sisters and Brothers,

AFRIKAN HISTORY WEEK 2009 will take place 2-6 September at Soria Moria / Cosmopolite (Torshov) in Oslo.


The festival is a Pan-Afrikan celebration of Afrika, Afrikan history and the Afrikan Community in Norway. This year will be the 5th year of the festival and the theme is "Civilization". Afrikan History Week includes cultural events, concerts, films, seminars, workshops, debates The organization has a Secretariat and a Production team. All AHW affiliates are of Afrikan descent and represent the diversity of the Afrikan community in Norway.

The festival needs volunteers to help with preparation and coordination of the festival. If you are interested, let us know today!

Needs:

+ Promotion (handing out flyers, hanging posters, send SMS etc)

+ Administrative tasks (phone calls, sending out letters etc)

+ Artist hospitality (meet and follow visiting artists around while they are in Oslo)

+ Transport (pick up artists from airport and hotel - you need to have your own car)

+ Event production assistance (selling tickets, meet and greet people, prepare venues, back stage coordination etc)

Finances

Afrikan History Week relies on voluntary support and can not pay remuneration to volunteers. But, if by prior agreement, your task involves any expenses, you will of course get this refunded. And you get free access to most events.
