Oil Fund soon worth NOK 3000 billion



The Norwegian Government Pension Fund - Global, often called the National Oil Fund, will later this fall or by the end of the year be worth an estimated NOK 3000 billon, Aftenposten reports.
Last Monday the Fund was worth NOK  2910 billion, or NOK 590,000 for each Norwegian.
- It is just like a dream, says Finance Minister Sigbjørn Johnsen to the newspaper.
He says the Fund has surpassed all expectations at the beginning, in 1996. He was also finance minister at that time, and responsible for the first depsit of NOK of NOK 2 billion.
