Flood damage in Southern Norway

The heavy rains and subsequent flooding in Southern Norway have caused damage to roads and railways in many areas. Several homes have been evacuated, but there are no reports of injuries.
In Egersund in the county of Rogaland 13 homes were evacuated at Sletthei, when masses of floodwaters threatened to inundate the hamlet Wednesday evening. But by Thursday morning the homes were no longer threatened, NRK reports.
In Southern Rogaland the railroad is partly closed at Moi station, after foundations for the railway line was washed out by flood waters, and three homes were evacuated in connection with the wash-out.
The train service is maintained on one track, and it is uncertain when the rail line will be fully re-opened.
At Flå in the county of Buskerud four homes were evacuated in the early hours of Thursday morning, following a large earth slide caused by the heavy rains.
Many roads across the South are still closed due to damage by floodwaters.
By Thursday morning the low-pressure area had moved north, and the weather over Southern Norway was gradually clearing up.
