Fighter jets to join Libyan assault

Royal Norwegian Air Force F-16 "Fighting Falcon"


A squadron of six Norwegian F-16 “Fighting Falcon” fighter jets are Monday leaving for a Mediterranean and will be ready for operations over Libya shortly, according to the Norwegian Defence Command.  The Norwegian F-16 “Fighting Falcon” will be a contribution towards the enforcement of Security Council resolution 1973,” says Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg.
- In our opinion it is important and correct to follow up on UN resolutions, but we have no illusions that this is goin to be an easy operation, the Norwegian Prime Minister says.
