Tanzanians,

We Are Sorry –

Rev. Sinkoio

(A Kenyan Rev.)

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I greet you all in the name of our almighty God, Hoping you are all breathing well under His wings.

Two days ago, I heard a rumor; I was told about the Tanzanians anger by one of my Tanzanian member of my church, and the anger was related to the sentiments made by one of our editors in Kenya, whose words went too far, and raised emotions in Tanzania.

Gitau Warigi, is a well known and respected journalist in our country, Kenya, and does not understand what transpired him to write what he wrote. With little knowledge about the Internet, I had no idea how to get the story myself, but after several inquiries and assistance, I managed to read all of his words and your related response, and all I can say to you all is Apology.

Warigi's comments are uncalled for, and biased if not disrespectful to people of Tanzania.

I have been a preacher for 12, years in a small town called Kijabe, which is outside Nairobi, and my church services are being attended by people of all nationalities including Tanzania.

In 2007, when election in my country turned into violence, most of my church goers ran into Tanzania (Arusha) to seek refuge. I remained at the church to protect the weak who could not have made it to Tanzania, at the same time, being a member of another ethnic group, I was not safe either I remained to die.

Those who left went to a Lutheran church there, and members of the Church in Tanzania supported them like their own.

Tanzanian's you are great people, humble with big hearts.I also read a response from one of your own called John Mashaka, and all I can say to you is that, he is a true patriot, and a true son of Tanzania.

When I was a young man growing in Nandi District in Kenya I read of a Pan African leader, idealist and a visionary who got so much respect and envy from the British, and other world leaders. This was nobody other than Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere, of Tanzania.

Nyerere, was an eloquent little man, a visionary and a thinker who had the ears of kings and queens.

Mashacka's response to Warigi's rage has reminded me of my role model, and that is Ndugu Mwalimu Nyerere, a thinker and a visionary.Once again, on behalf of other Kenyans I am truly expressing my remorse as a citizen and a man of God, and may he bless you.

We truly respect Tanzanians

Rev. Francis Ole-Saitun Sinkoio
