The Norwegian Government will increase the wealth tax on homes in cities and urban areas. This is proposed in the National Budget for 2010 which will be presented later Tuesday, according to the ANB news agency.(Photo: Finance Minister Kristin Halvorsen)
The property tax will from now on to a larger degree be based on the market price. This would mean that high priced homes in congested areas will be taxed more heavily than homes in rural areas, the agency reports.
However, according to ANB, more pensioners will be exempt from tax on their home.
More later from the proposed budget presented by Finance Minister Kristin Halvorsen.
