Convicted CIA agents also in Norway?

At least two of the 23 CIA agents who were earlier this week convicted of having abducted a Muslim cleric in Italy in 2003 and sending him to Egypt, have reportedly also been in Oslo.

Their misson in Oslo is said to have been the charting of the movements of Mullah Krekar (photo) in preparation for an abduction of the alleged former guerilla movement leader.

The two CIA agents were earlier this week sentenced in their absence to five years in jail for their part in the Milan abduction.

The two agents turned up in Oslo only two months after the Milan affair, Stavanger Aftenblad reports.

Mullah Krekar was at the time suspected by US authorities to be a terrorist and named leader of the terrorist organisation Ansar-al-islam.

The Norwegian Department of Foreign Affairs has declined to comment on the report, the newspaper writes.
