Changes in the Norwegian Government

In today’s session of the Council of State, the King has appointed Ms. Hadia Tajik, Member of Parliament, as Minister of Culture. At the same time Minister Hanne Bjurstrøm has been honourably discharged from her office.

Mr. Jonas Gahr Støre is appointed Minister of Health and Care Services, and Ms. Anne-Grete Strøm-Erichsen is new Minister of Defence. Ms. Anniken Huitfeldt is new Minister of Labour and Mr. Espen Barth Eide is appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The changes are active as of 3 pm today.

The Government represents the Labour Party (Lab.), the Socialist Left Party (Soc.) and the Centre Party (Cent.). The government list is now as follows:
