-Threatens to drop new bombshell on those implicated in the scandal

THISDAY REPORTER
Dodoma.

THE chairman of the parliamentary committee that investigated the Richmond power generation deal, Dr Harrison Mwakyembe, has challenged legislators implicated in the scandal to resign from the House if further evidence that he is prepared to unearth conclusively links them to the dubious contract.

Mwakyembe, the Kyela Member of Parliament on a CCM ticket, said in parliament yesterday that he was annoyed by perceptible attempts by some MPs to cover up the scandal and ridicule the collective National Assembly decision to overwhelmingly endorse the findings of his committee.

He said he and the other committee members - Lucas Selelii (Nzega-CCM), Ms Stella Manyanya (Special Seats-CCM), Herbert Mntangi (Muheza-CCM) and Mohamed Mnyaa (Mkanyageni-CUF) - were themselves prepared to resign as MPs if it is established that their report findings were a lie.
