The Norwegian police is focusing more on serious traffic offences, and have suspended a record number of driving licences so far this year.
In the first seven months, 3038 drivers have had their permit revoked. This is 14 per cent higher than at the same time last year, says Chief of the Central Highway Police, Odd Reidar Humlegaard.
We hope the drivers will realize that their own behaviour is the most important contribution in the effort to reduce the number of killed or seriously injured on the roads, Humlegaard says.
