Labour Party Grand Old
Man dies at 103

Former Secretary General of the Norwegian Labour Party Haakon Lie has died at the age of 103, after a short illness. Lie was one of the most influential Norwegian politicians after World War II.
Lie was party secretary for 24 years, from 1945 to 1969, and member of the party's Central Committee in the same period.
He had great influence on the Labour Party's politics also after he retired.
Lie also wrote several books about the history of the Labour Party. His latest, "Slik jeg ser det" (The Way I see it) was published last year, on his 103rd birthday.
