President Jakaya Kikwete's aides

are not assisting him enough in

the war on corruption..





Former prime ministers Salim Ahmed Salim and Joseph Warioba say President Jakaya Kikwete is not getting enough support and proper advice on sensitive national issues from his aides.

Two former prime ministers yesterday accused President Jakaya Kikwete's aides of not assisting him enough in the war on corruption and also in the handling of other sensitive issues, thus endangering national stability.

In an interview with The Citizen in Dar es Salaam, Dr Salim Ahmed Salim, who is also a distinguished career diplomat, said he was convinced that President Kikwete was determined to weed out graft, but was not getting the full support of his top advisors.
