Skilled workers can learn Norwegian
while finding employment
If you are a skilled worker you may be granted a residence permit to study Norwegian for a total of one year. You can at the same time find employment in Norway. Language can often be an obstacle for skilled foreign workers who are recruited to the Norwegian labour market. Norwegian employers often require that you know some Norwegian language. From January 1st this year all skilled workers, with or without a job offer, can be granted a residence permit for a total of one year to study Norwegian language.
