For those wanting peace, quiet and safety, the tiny community of Utsira in Rogaland County in western Norway is the place to be.
Statistics Norway's overview of national crime rates reveals Utsira as the safest place in Norway, and island communities along the western or Trøndelag coast are best at delivering an idyllic life, NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting) reports.
Utsira, Norway's smallest municipality, as an average annual reported crime level of less than five per 1,000 residents over the past two years - and only 215 inhabitants.
The most troubled municipalities are Hemsedal in Buskerud County - 226 crimes per 1,000 residents - Ullensaker in Akershus County and Kvalsund in northern Norway's Finnmark County.
Hemsedal is burdened with statistics from hard-partying youngsters that invade during the winter sports season, and Ullensaker contains Oslo Gardermoen Airport.
Oslo is in fourth place, with 149.9 crimes per 1,000 residents.
