The Norwegian Post Office, Posten has launched its new logo in order to compete outside Norway. Norway’s most left-wing party, Rødt, criticises the authorities for using money on the project. "It's impossible to understand how the Minister of Transport and Communications can sit by and allow the closure of several hundred post offices, while the administration uses enormous amounts of money to build unnecessary and wasteful brand names," says Rødtparty leader Torstein Dahle.
Posten is spending NOK 300 million (USD 55 million) this year to change its logo.
Reactions to the new logo from designers, vary from sadness to an understanding of why this version was chosen.
