Most Norwegians are

not concerned over

the financial crisis

Most Norwegians are not concerned over the financial crisis. A fresh survey shows that only one out of ten of those asked is afraid of losing his or her job. The unemployment rate is still only at a national average of 2.0 per cent.

The survey, carried out for the newspaper Nationen shows that 91.4 per cent respond by saying that they are not afraid of becoming unemployed.

Those under the age of 30, and those with lowest education show the highest concern for losing their job.

Altough the unemployment rate in Norway showed a strong increase in December, it is still only at an average 2.0 per cent of the total labour force according to the latest figures from the National Labour Office (NAV).

It is lowest in Rogaland County, at 1.3 per cent.
