Major train delays

north of Oslo

A faulty cable at Lillestroem north of Oslo has resulted in major delays and many cancellations on train services in the region. The Airport Express to Oslo Airport Gardermoen is among the trains affected.

Passengers from Oslo Central Station to the airport are transported by taxi. The local trains running north from Oslo are also cancelled, and passengers are transported by bus.

However, the Intercity trains and the express trains are operating, but with some delays, NRK reports.

The repair crews are out, but the whole cable has to be replaced, and this will take several hours, the Railworks say.
