Housing prices on the way up
Following a slumping market last fall, the prices on private homes increased by an average 4.8 per cent in January. However, they are still 6.9 per cent below the average of the same month a year ago.
Compared with the peak in August 2007, housing prices are now 10 per cent lower.
The Norwegian Estate Agents' Association see the January hike as positive, but say that housing prices in January normally increase compared with December. Still they view it as a positive trend, considering the financial crisis.
