Advocate Herbert Nyange yesterday linked the State House to decisions leading to the authorizing payments made to Alex Stewart Government Business Corporation, which was hired as independent gold assayers in the country. 

He told Resident Magistrate Hezron Mwankenja at the Kisutu Resident Magistrate’s Court that his client, former Finance Minister Basil Mramba, had directed the governor of Bank of Tanzania (BoT) to pay the company upon getting approval of the State House. “My client had no authority to issue such payments. 

He did so after getting approval of Ikulu (State House),” the advocate said during preliminary hearing of the case in which Mramba is charged jointly with two former senior government officials Daniel Yona and Gray Mgonja. ..Read Full Story>>>>>
