Health services for illegal immigrants
The Norwegian government will now provide full public health services for children, pregnant women and mentall unstable persons who are living in Norway illegally.
This is clear after the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Anne-Grete Strøm-Erichsen and Justice Minister Knut Storberget have agreed to outline the rights of those immigrants living in Norway without ID papers.
The new social regulations will cover around 30,000 persons living illegally in Norway.
Up to now, these illegal immigrants have had the right to emergency services only.
