Norway

Release from citizenship within one year

If you wish to become a Norwegian citizen, you must be released from or renounce any other citizenship. It is your responsibility to take the steps required for a release within one year.

As a rule, Norwegian legislation requires that you release yourself from or renounce your previous citizenship.

The deadline for submitting documentation from public authorities regarding such a release is one year.

Some countries are somewhat reluctant to grant release from citizenship. For example, you may need a permit to settle abroad before a release is granted. It consequently rests with you to take the steps required for obtaining citizenship release within the deadline of one year.

Mdau msomaji wa blogu,

asante kwa ombi lako. Tutajitahidi kila tunapoweza kuzitafsiri taarifa muhimu kwa Kiswahili.

Usisite kutoa mawazo yako pale unapoona kuna mapungufu
