Controversial Oslo pastor
may be dismissed

Gelius has been informed of this in a letter from Oslo Bishop Ole Christian Kvarme, according to public broadcaster NRK. The letter is also said to mention earlier conflicts.
The case will be brought before Diocese Council at the end of the month, NRK reports.
Gelius will be suspended, and given leave until the Council meeting on November 29th.
The pastor received much media attention when he published his book "Sex in the Bible" (Sex i Bibelen) earlier this fall.
Oslo Bishop Kvarme said at the time that the book should never have been written. However, Gelius also received statements of support from people who felt it was important to bring up prejudices and taboos among Christians.
The Vålerenga Church Council gives full support to Gelius as their pastor, but admit that opinions on the controversial book are divided.
