PRESIDENT OF CHINA XI JINPING RECEIVES ROUSING WELCOME IN DAR ES SALAAM, SUNDAY 24th MARCH 2013


China´s new President Xi Jinping arrived in Tanzania yesterday ahead of a three-nation Africa tour also taking in South Africa and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). President Jinping flew into Dar es Salaam with his wife from Moscow. After holding official talks, scores of ministers and CEO of Chinese companies signed a total of 16 accords before the new President of China gave a keynote speech on relations with Africa during a state banquet.

He is scheduled to head to Durban, South Africa, tomorrow for a summit of leaders of the world’s major emerging economies, known as the BRICS, on Tuesday and Wednesday, and could endorse plans to create a joint foreign exchange reserves pool and an infrastructure.
