Happy 9o th birthday Mandela!!!Our hero celebrated his 90th birthday in London the other night at a charity dinner attended by some of the world’s most famous and powerful people. Presidents, prime ministers and some of Hollywood’s biggest stars turned out in force for the bash at Hyde Park, including Bill Clinton, Will Smith, Oprah Winfrey and Gordon Brown,Pierce Brosnan,Kim Cattral,Denzel Washington,Robert Deniro, and many other celebs!!!
During the night an auction was held, with lots including a life-size bronze of Mr Mandela’s right hand, raising some £1million for Mr Mandela’s Aids charity 46664.
Actor Forest Whitaker was compere for the evening and the 500 guests ate food prepared by Gordon Ramsay, while Sir Elton John serenaded Mr Mandela with Happy Birthday.
A celebrity-studded charity concert to celebrate his birthday will also be held in Hyde Park tomorrow, with acts due onstage including Amy Winehouse, Leona Lewis, Queen, Simple Minds, The Soweto Gospel Choir and Razorlight Good to see Naomi Came out despite being banished from the presenters list of tomorrow concert by Madiba himself!!!!
