Flu scare:

Soaring sales of disinfectants

The sales of disinfectants are soaring as a result of the fear of the spreading swine flu or H1N1, and the focus on hand hygiene. Many outlets are sold out and production has been increased.

- The demand has increased to the point where we are now setting up an extra shift in production and are calling back staff from vacation, says Kemetyl Group CEO Otto Fevang.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has reccommended handwash with disinfectant as the best remedy for preventing the spread of the flu.

According to figures from the Norwegian Institute for Public Health, there were by Tuesday morning registered altogether 294 cases of the swine flu in Norway.
