The Pakistan-Norway Association (PANA) sounded the alarm.

The message was reportedly written in "bad" English, and full of spelling mistakes. It said the embassy would be attacked within a few days, reports newswire NTB.

"Attack norwegien embassy soon .. norwegien embassy soon face attack in couple of days .... norwegien soldier is amerikian dogs in afghanistan doing the crusade and killings of many afghans and so action attack against norwey ... you all norwegien under attack"

PANA director Atilla Amir Iftikhar told Aftenposten.no: "There is something unprofessional with this letter... but the embassy has to make its own decision about the case."

Norway’s ambassador, Aud Marit Wiig, confirms that there was a threat to the embassy. She says a threatening e-post was received, and the Norwegian authorities, as well as local authorities, have been updated on the situation.

The embassy is closed on the weekend, as is normal, and there has not been any decision about whether or not it will reopen on Monday.
